David Shrigley characters come to AR life in restaurant Sketch with an app created by HATO

sketch, one of London’s most unique restaurants, and HATO have collaborated to create a new app that brings Turner prize nominee, David Shrigley’s artworks to life through AR technology.

The sketchApp allows diners create their own immersive playground using animated digital stickers of Shrigley characters and motifs. These can be placed around your immediate surroundings using your iPhone’s camera and will animate and interact with the objects around the venue.

The app has been created by HATO, who also created the restaurant’s website in 2018, and allows the user to take videos and photos of the virtual stickers that are downloadable to share.

There are currently 15 animated stickers for users to play with. Download via the App Store here.
